Naya Pakistan or Gaya Pakistan

For those of you who do not understand, the word In Sha Allah means "God willing" and Naya means "New", and why did I share this is because at present with the weekend approaching, I can safely say that "It's All Happening" here in Pakistan. In my 25 years of existence on this planet, I have never seen our fellow countrymen this active before.  And that is because it’s time for the General Elections, its time for Pakistan to vote, its time for a change, and finally as the title says, its time for a “Naya Pakistan”.

Everywhere I go, everywhere I look, I see those big banners of candidates fighting for the State and National Assembly seats from their respective constituencies. And again, its an opportunity for the old and new faces to run their campaign day in day out in order to secure their vote bank, because as we all know that elections are conducted every 5 years but for some it is a “Once in a Lifetime” moment, something that one would be foolish to let go of.

Even I can imagine all over the country at this time, now that the time is almost up for the Election Campaigns of all the candidates. The people will have nothing else on their mind except for politics and the fact that whom should they vote from their constituencies and the fact that it’s not only the old horses that are in the ground. A new potential party has also risen in the last few years and it promises to lighten up the competition.

One thing that is really going to tempt the people is the fact that a few days ago when the Leader (Mr. Imran Khan) was on the way up the stage via fork lifter to address a large gathering in Lahore, he lost his balance and fell head first 15-20 feet below and now he is in hospital with a few stitches to his forehead and a minor fracture to his spinal cord and still he is willing to address a gathering at the capital as I speak. Now if a political leader is that much concerned about the nation than why wouldn't people favour him (not to mention that sympathy plays a major part here). Nevertheless the party that, in English, translates to “Pakistan Justice League” is definitely going to give its rivals a tough time and well, you never know.

On the flip side of things, there are threats of attacks during the polling process as there was during the campaigns. There are mixed opinions among the public but again, if we need a change, we have to got out there and cast our votes in large turnouts because for Pakistan it is simply “Now or Never”. What we have been through is enough to make us realize that this is enough. This country was never meant to go this way, and unfortunately it has.

On the bright side, life will always give us another chance at redemption and we believe that time is here. This season one has to say will always be a memorable one in the sense that all of us (including me) who are not into politics all start digging into it, as if searching for a buried treasure. For the youth who has the power to carry the nation forward, it simply doesn't get any better than this. No matter what the result is, in the future we can all look back and say that yes those were the most happening days occurring during the prime time of our lives.

May whoever wins the Elections; guide this country towards recovery because quite frankly, this country cannot take it any more  It has suffered enough already and now is the time to get things right, and move towards a happy and prosperous Naya Pakistan, In Sha Allah.
