Funny isn't it, the life that we chalk down and the life
that has already been chalked down for us by our Creator, and the difference in
between the two. What amazes me more is the fact that the one that writes our
life down, that is exactly what happens, in a nutshell, it is God Almighty that
will always have the last laugh.
Many people set goals for themselves that they are going to
achieve this and that and stuff, and how many of them actually get to achieve
all of their goals?
Not everyone, definitely not all. There are those people
that take a U-turn in their lives and there are those that take lot of twists
and turns and ultimately we all get what we are suppose to get.
Take me as an example, when I was done with my O’ Levels I
did not want to do A’ Levels since I knew that college expenses would be very
high. Instead I chose Intermediate. After college I decided to go for Chartered
Accountancy, since most students were going for BBA and I felt that I need to
do something that is rare and is fruitful in the long-run. Three years down the
road I was not being able to clear all courses in a particular module and
although I was studying module C, I still had to sit in for module B papers
(which were 3).
After having failed for the third consecutive time, I
finally decided to quit CA and pursue M.B.A. Since I was also doing my B.Com,
so I had the advantage of having saved my two and a half years and now in 2013
I am hopefully destined to attend the convocation in February 2014. Clearly I
have taken a completely different turn from where I started my journey and I am
sure now that most of you will start to reflect on what you have been through
and where have you missed out and what are you gaining or are going to gain
from wherever you are at this point in time.
Let’s do a practical exercise, take a piece of paper and
write down where do you want to see yourself 5 years, or 10 years from now. I
bet not all of you will be able to write down your position without any
hesitation. Most will hesitate and some may not even write anything. Don’t
worry, you are not to be blamed, simple because not all of us are sure as to
where will we be in the next 5 or 10 years. Hell, will we be even alive or not?
We can take all the time to make our lifetime goals and even
succeed in doing that, but GOD FORBID, what if (for example) the next day you
get run over by a car, what will be going through your mind lying there in a
pool of blood and on the way to hospital? It is a fact that no matter how long
we live, our life is only worth a few minutes, a dream, and a video containing
all the memorable pictures and moments with a suitable song playing in the
background (something that we create and share on Facebook). May God protect us
from all evils and grant us a happy life, Amen, but the thing is that we cannot
take the life in your own hands completely; there is someone up there that
already controls the proceedings as He has been for thousands of years.
Do another thing, go to your parents and ask them what is it
that they want in this life? I bet they are going to say one thing only that they
want to see you happy. They had different plans, and they did not even come
close to achieving all of them. Simply because they had a bigger goal to
accomplish, “Us”, they had to sacrifice everything that they were going to do,
just to ensure we grow up in a peaceful and a secure environment, with almost
all of the basics.
In a nutshell, one simple rule is to just live your life on
a daily basis, take whatever comes your way on a daily basis, we live on a day
to day basis, we live all the days of our lives. And whatever your plans were
that you failed to do, do not be too disheartened. Because at the end of the
day, we get what is beneficial for us, only problem is that we do not see it.
Then who does? Surely it’s God that sees what we do not see. So leave all your
problems to him to solve and you go on and pray for yourself and for the better
of all mankind. Peace out
