In Pursuit of a Buried Treasure within.....

Last Thursday my teacher of Financial Management Course narrated a small incident that took place while he was in London in pursuit of work. Here is how it goes;

“I used to take the Underground tube to work. On the way back from work while I was sitting in the tube, it started to pick up speed and it was going to fast that I felt like the train was going to crash, spin out of control (typical in the movies).  Just then I heard a small girl shouting, I looked back to see a small girl, roughly 4-5 years old shouting at her Mother with excitement

Mommy, Mommy!!! We are going so fast that we may go into tomorrow, and then we can go home and tell dad that we are from today

The Mother looked at her daughter and just told her to SHUT UP! By saying that, the mother doesn’t know but she just killed one of the most brilliant minds (most probably) of the future.”
Ultimately the class was over and while I was on my way home and even during the remainder of the class, I kept thinking about that story that he just shared with us, before he started sharing that he said that although our parents did the best that they possibly could to raise us (no doubt about that) at the same time, they also killed us. The moral of the story is that one thing that most of us (including me) lack in is the fact that we are just not creative enough to pave a way of our own.

Personally I am pretty bad when it comes to being creative, even at work I completely lag behind because I am expected to come up with something of my own but I cannot. Although I am under no pressure to work but when it comes to excelling, I really fail to catch up. It’s not only me, I am sure there are others out there as well that do not have the ability to think out of the box.

One also gets the feeling that whatever was supposed to be thought of has already been done. We are like “Oh, I also could have thought of that, why didn’t I?” Well my friends, the reason why didn’t we think of it because we were not good enough to think like that and the best we can do is try to cover ourselves after all is said and done. It all goes back to the schooling system from the start where kids should actually be encouraged to write whatever comes in their minds about anything (and I tell you, kids’ imagination runs wild Big Time). Instead, were always instructed to memorize whatever was written on the board. That creative thinking just could not be established in our brains.

However, there are those few talented people that are actually born with a very creative mind and hence they go on to excel in whatever they are good at.  It goes to show that If you want the next generation to be more creative, then you have to let them do all the odd stuff when they are just kids because that is where the real Einstein of tomorrow is born. You stop them from exploring the world through their eyes, you kill them on the spot and we are left with nothing but Walking Skeleton wearing a Piece of meat. Worth a thought for us If we want to save our future kids.
