Sipping my Monday morning cup of tea I look out the window, it certainly is a pleasant weather. Dark clouds, the sea breeze blowing ever so pleasantly, Hmmmm what a way to kick off the week . Having no work to do (the boss is in Shanghai) I log in to my Facebook account and set the status “the mausam(weather) is awesome………..provided that there are no thunderstorms”, only a few minutes later, my childhood buddy, Sam, comments on my status, lets go to the beach. 0_o me and my big mouth! lol I thought to myself but hey if he wants to enjoy the cloudy weather, why not?
SO we came up with a plan to head off on the bike after work time (5 p.m). The good thing is that the only thing separating our offices is the intersection bridge, the only thing I have to do is cross it.
Anyways I got to his office and we set-off on our journey enjoying the sea breeze hitting our faces and having told nothing of it at home lol. Finally we got there safe and sound, wasted no time to head down to meet the waves and make the most of the sunset time. He wasted no time in taking off his socks and shoes and dashed off (he gets a little TOO excited) nevertheless I control my nerves and take a slow walk down, I look around to see the vast majority of people that have turned up at the beach (just a reminder that we don’t have ladies in bikinis).
It really is a pleasing sight to see people of all ages (most from the interior parts of the country) taken over the shore and are absolutely loving the moment. I meet the waves and roll up my pants upto the knees and walk alongside them. Reminded me of how in my childhood days I used to go crazy at being here, and not ever looking back at what the noisy city beholds. It just reminded me of the fact that it’s not just the sea the pulls us, it’s the desire to take time out from our schedules and not worry about overtimes and stuff. We can go to any other place, but being at the beach once in a while, during summers mostly does have its own charm.
I was not concerned much about the waves, but most about the sea of people that were there and it just reminded me of how good those days were back then when we as kids considered it to be the time of our lives (sadly not anymore, not like the old days). Anyways its getting dark and just a reminder that me and my buddy have not told anything of this at home so we should wash our legs and get ready to go back, before we left I took another glace at the people back there and deep down inside I prayed that such moments should not vanish from our lives no matter what the age is. We can visit our childhood anytime anywhere anyhow as long as we tell ourselves that as long as we are alive, “its not over” .
